The
Mazda Miata is a fabulous roadster that has won the hearts of enthusiasts
throughout the world. Its simple design is eye catching, and even over 1
decade later -- still has a strong following. In fact, the Museum of Modern
Art in New York City hosts an exhibit of excellence in modern design --
on display is the factory NA Miata tail light.
Aesthetically, the Mazda Miata tail light looks great when off. However,
we felt the light could benefit from our tender touch. So, away with the
factory incandescent bulbs as we introduce our LED converted NA Miata tail
light. The entire tail light unit is completely disassembled and retrofitted
with several hundred high-intensity LEDs. The parking lamp function is illuminated
with a ring of LEDs which surround the reflex reflector. When the brakes
are activated, the center of the circle lights up with red high-intensity
LEDs. The signals use a mix of LEDs, both wide-angle and high-intensity
-- illuminating the entire signal chamber. In addition, the newly revised
version uses a ring of white LEDs for reverse lamp function.
